Princess Ljubica of Montenegro, later Princess
Zorka Karageorgevic of Serbia (23 Dec. 1864 –
16 Mar. 1890) was the eldest child of King
Nicholas I and Queen Milena of Montenegro,
and the wife of Prince Peter Karageorgevic, who
would become King of Serbia in 1903, 13 years
after her death.
The "Princess Zorka Society of Serb Women"
had been founded right after the end of WW1.
The Society was focused on providing relief to
the Wounded and Victims of the War as well as
on supporting the effort of rebuilding the
country, on promoting the national unity, the
rights of women and the equality of men and
women in private and public law.
Gilt and enameled badge with a full color portrait
of Princess Zorka, circumscribed in Cyrillic
"DRUSTVO - KNEGINJA ZORKA" (Society of
Princess Zorka). With the Royal Crown of the
Kingdom and the Double Headed Eagle and the
Coat of Arms of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats
and Slovenes (1918-1929).
