SERBIA: Order of Saint Sava, Officer's Cross, IV
(4th) Class, 1st pattern (the Saint in red robe),
1904 - 1914, in silver gilt.
Austrian made, luxurious example, maker marked
(illegible but it is made by Scheid, Vienna - it is a
typical example), hallmarked with the Austrian
Imperial stamp of silver purity.
The medal is in almost mint condition, no chipping,
BUT unfortunately 1 of the 4 eagles is missing .
The Order of St Sava was instituted in 1883, in 5
classes, by King Milan I to be awarded especially
for meritorious service to the State, the Royal
House, the Church and to the fields of Arts and
Sciences.
