Slovak State - Axis: WW2 Badge of Honor for
Service on the Eastern Front. Bronze Class.
The Badge was instituted in 1942 by the
government of the Independent State of
Slovakia (a Nazi-puppet state).
It was produced by the Kremnice Mint and
was awarded in 3 classes (Silver, Bronze,
and Combined (with silver sword and wreath
while helmet and background was in bronze)
for combatants, for service in front-line
support role (i.e. medics) and non combatants
respectively, to Slovaks who served on the
Eastern Front.
Inscribed with the date "22.VI.1941" (Jun. 22,
1941, the date of the Axis invasion of the
Soviet Union, code named as "Operation
Barbarossa")
The badge is rare in all classes given that
Slovakia was the smallest of the Axis allies.
