Slovak State - Axis: Order of the War Victory 
Cross, 3rd class.
The Order was instituted in 1939 by the 
government of the Independent State of 
Slovakia (a Nazi-puppet state) initially in 3 
classes. It was amended in 1942 and 1943 in 
5 classes and 3 medals. 
The Order was awarded for military leadership 
while the color of the enamel indicated the 
class of the award (red for the 1st and 2nd 
classes, blue for the 3rd). In total 3769 awards 
of all classes were made (437 of them were 
awarded to members of the German Armed 
Forces and 142 to those of Romania). 
The Order is rare in all classes.
