United Nations: Greek version of the United 
Nations Commemorative Medal for the 
participation in the Operations during the Korean 
War, under the UN mandate. 
Issued to Greek Military personnel "For Services 
Defending the Principles of the United Nations 
Charter“.
The Medal was established by the UN in 1950 and 
it was awarded to the members of the multi-
national forces who participated in the Korean 
War (27 June 1950 and 27 July 1954), in different 
form of the reverse side for each participating 
Nation. 
A rare medal as it was just issued to the Greek 
Contingent (1263 men of the Army (Infantry and 
Medics) and the Royal Hellenic Air Force (tactical 
Transportation Squadron equipped with Dacotas).
