WWI Order of Our Lady of Mercy Grand Officer's Cross Set Boxed with Miniature & Lapel Pin by Johnson

International Order: Complete Grand Officer’s 
Cross set of the Royal Military Order of Our Lady 
of Mercy, comprising the full-size insignia, 
matching miniature and lapel pin. 
Produced by the respected maker Johnson of 
Rome and preserved in its original box of issue. 
The Order was established in 1218 by James I 
King of Aragon in Spain in order to decorate the 
Crusaders. 
It was revived at the late 19th century - early 20th 
as the "Ordine della Mercede" with members from 
the Catholic Countries such as Italy, Spain and 
Portugal (AKA Mercedarians). 
No solid information is available regarding the 
current status of the Order, but allegedly it has 
less than 600 active members. 
This Grand Officer's Cross set is an Italian made 
early example of superb quality. A high-quality 
and prestigious international order, ideal for 
collectors of chivalric and military decorations.
