The Order of Military Service was established in 1 
class (a breast badge), in 1949. 
Initially it was awarded only to Generals and High 
Ranked Officers.
It was amended to 3 classes and 1 medal in 1965.
Issued to Officers of the People’s Army and of the 
Ministry of Internal Affairs, for excellent results 
and conscientious work regarding military, 
political and special duties. 
A rare medal.
Despite being a former communist country,  
Albania issued medals and decorations of high 
quality in very low numbers.
