Austria-Hungary: Commemorative Silver
medal for the 100 years of the War for the
Independence of Tirol (Tyrol) and the uprising
against the Bavarian occupation, in 1809, that
led to the victorious for the Austrian forces
battle of Innsbruck.
The medal was issued in 1909.
Despite the victory, however, the Austrian
Empire lost the province to the French, under
the provisions of the Schonnbrun Treaty that
was signed the same year.
A rare medal, marked "A" (Hallmark for silver
of the Vienna Mint) on the rim.
