Belgium - Poland: WW2 Cross of the Allies (Croix
des Allies) with Clasps F.E.F. and M.E.F.
Given the clasps the Cross, the recipient was a
member of the French Foreign Legion (13th
Foreign Legion Demi-Brigade) who took part in
the Battle of Bir Hakeim (May 26 - Jun. 11, 1942)
and the Invasion of Italy (1943-44).
The Cross of the Allies was issued in co-operation
with the Polish Government in Exile, after the end
of WW2 to the allied military personnel who fought
in Europe and the Middle East during WW2.
The Clasps:
- M.E.F. (Middle East Forces - the British Army
Command in the Middle East. The Command
was based in Cairo, Egypt and carried out the
campaign in North Africa against Rommel's
Afrika Korps.)
- F.E.F. (French Expeditionary Forces - also known
as the French Expeditionary Corps in Italy).
A quite rare medal.
