Belgium WWI Commemorative Medal for the African Campaigns 1914 1916 Silver Class

Belgium: WW1 Commemorative Medal for the 
Campaigns against the German African Colonies, 
silver class, for officers (or more accurately for
Belgians and Europeans). 
The medal was instituted in 1917 and it was 
awarded to the Belgian forces who participated 
in the campaigns against the German African 
colonies of Cameroon, Tanganyika, East and 
South-West Africa. 
This is the 1st version of the medal, dated 1916 
and signed by A. Matton.
The medal is very rare due the limited number of 
the Belgian forces that participated in the 
campaigns.
