Rare Flemish version of the medal (a French
version also exists).
Dated 1914 -1918.
On the obverse: A female portrait circumscribed:
"And Yet...No Grief"
On the reverse: The ruins of the Cathedral of
Ypres, circumscribed in Flemish: "The Most
Severely War Injured and Invalided".
Unofficial medal issued by The Society of "The
Most Severely War Injured and Invalided".
The Society was established right after the end
of WW1 and was focused in providing aid on the
rehabilitation of the very seriously injured and
disabled due to a war injury.
The medal is scarce, especially in its Flemish
version.
