Unions of the Secret Army, dated 1991, for a 
resistance member who was part of a 
resistance group for 23 months.
The Cross was awarded to the members of 
the WW2 Resistance Groups.
More than 70.000 Belgians participated in the 
various groups of Resistance during the 
German Occupation. Aside from sabotage of 
military infrastructure in the country and assas-
sinations of collaborators, these groups also 
published large numbers of underground 
newspapers, gathered intelligence and 
maintained various escape networks that 
helped Allied airmen escape from German
occupied Europe.
