The medal was instituted in 1951 to be awarded to 
those who refused to perform military or civil 
duties-works assigned to them by the Nazis. 
With the inscription "Maybe defeated but never 
enslaved". 
The medal was established in 1951.
A rare medal, here on the ribbon for those who 
refused to carry out military duties for the 
German authorities. 
This is the rarest of the 3 types of the Defaulters 
Medal.
