FINLAND: Order of the White Rose of Finland,
Silver Medal of Merit with Gold Cross (1st Class).
In its box of issue.
Silver and gilt medal, maker marked "AT" (for
Alexander Tilander), marked with the "Crown"
(National mark of Finland) and the "Boat Mark"
of Helsinki.
Also marked "813H" (silver purity hallmark) and
dated "A7" for 1954.
The Order of the White Rose of Finland was
established in 1919 and it replaced the Order of
the Cross of Liberty.
It could be awarded to both military and civilian
recipients of either Finnish or foreign origin for
outstanding acts.
This is an award most likely issued for acts of
merit during WW2.
