killed in action.
The Order was established in 1918 during the
Independence War of Finland. The number
"1941" shows the year of the award.
The Order of the Cross of Liberty is a premier
Order of Finland and it was awarded (until
1960) for merit during war time active service.
This example was issued during the War of
Continuation 1941 - 1944 against Soviet
Russia.
