FRANCE: Commemorative medal for the 2nd 
Madagascar Campaign in 1895.
Silver medal, hallmarked by the Paris Mint 
(cornucopia and "Argent" (silver) for silver 
purity) on the rim, signed by O. Roty. 
With its rare 1895 clasp on the ribbon.
The medal was established in 1896 and 
awarded to the 15.000 soldiers and sailors 
under General Duchene who participated in 
the 2nd expedition on the island of 
Madagascar (1894-1896).
