FRANCE: Silver Commemorative medal of the
Morocco Campaign (1908) with "Casablanca"
clasp on the ribbon.
Hallmarked "1" for silver purity and signed by
George Lemaire.
The medal was instituted in 1909 and was
awarded to military and civilian personnel who
participated in the "pacification" campaign of
Morocco (1907 - 1909).
The "Casablanca" clasp was issued to Navy
personnel for service, between 5 Aug. 1907 and
15 Jun. 1909, in Morocco, or on board a vessel
of the Naval Forces detached to Morocco or
charged with a mission in Moroccan waters.
