FRANCE: Inkwell desk weight in the form of the
famous French Renault FT-17 WW1 Tank, placed
on an altar guarded by the head of a soldier
wearing the Adrian helmet. The helmet hides the
inkwell.
With a dedication sign on it that links it to the
505 Tank Regiment (505 RCC). The Regiment
was established in 1918 as 505 Special
Artillery Regiment and was renamed to 505
Tank Regiment in 1920.
Representative and typical patriotic item of the
interwar period.
Such items were given as presents to officers.
This is a rare design, signed by Malespina (Louis
Ferdinand Malespina 1874-1949)
Underneath the base, the diorama is maker
marked (Richer, Paris), marked "Depose" (for
patented design) and "Made in France" (the logo
is in use since the end of WW1).
