FRANCE: Trench art paper weight inkwell in the form
of the WW1 French Hotchkiss M1914 Machine Gun
placed on its tripod, with is ammunition box next to it
(the box hides the inkwell) and some hand grenades
close by.
There is a dedication sign on it: “Souvenir from my
Regiment”.
Probably a gift to an officer. Such gifts were typical
and representative of the interwar period.
The diorama is signed by its designer (Malespina),
maker marked Richer, Paris and also marked “Made
in France” (It was used since the end of WW1).
