(Souvenir from Alsace - for the Battle of Alsace,
Western Front, France, 10 –14 Aug. 1914).
Also inscribed with the name of the soldier-owner
(Antony Faverot).
Length: 15,7 cm
The battle of Alsace (or Battle of Mulhouse, (7-10
and 14-26 Aug. 1914, was the opening attack by
the French Army against Germany in WW1.
The battle is recorded as a German victory as the
French managed initially to capture Mulhouse
only to be pushed back shortly after by the
German Army.
