FRANCE: Colonial medal with Clasp "Maroc 1925"
for the respective peacekeeping operations in
Morocco.
This is the intermediate type (1913 - 1938) of the
medal, designed by George Lemaire (signed on
the obverse, with his initials on the reverse side),
hallmarked ~2~ for silver purity.
The Colonial medal was established in 1893 and
was awarded to military personnel who operated
in French colonies and protectorates.
In total there are established 52 official and 63
unofficial bars for the colonial medal.
The award was replaced in 1962 by the Overseas
Medal.
