FRANCE: Set of 4 War Crosses 1914 - 1915, 1916, 
1917 and 1918.
These Crosses cover all the years of Croix de 
Guerre issues during WW1. 
The last number of each cross states the year of 
issue. 
The medals were awarded to military personnel 
who demonstrated exceptional performance 
before the enemy. 
The medals are the following:
- Cross of War 1915 with 1 silver star (citation at 
the divisional level). 
- Cross of War 1916 with bronze star (citation at 
the level of the Regiment/Brigade) 
- Cross of War 1917 with 1 bronze star 
- Cross of War 1918 with a bronze star  

The 1915 and 1916 issued Crosses are considered 
hard to find, especially with citations on them.
