Knight's Cross, of the 3rd French Republic (1870-
1951).
The Order was established by Emperor Napoleon
Bonaparte in 1802 and is awarded to both French
and foreign citizens for outstanding civil and/or
military services to France.
The Order of Honor represents the highest
national decoration of France.
This is a post WW1 example of the Knight's
Cross in its box of issue.
