The Union was established in 1918 and was
recognized by the French Government in 1920.
Membership is open to currently serving
military personnel and to former
combatants from all branches of the French
Armed Forces, regardless of the conflict they
participated in.
This is the 1st example of the medal, of the
post WW1 era.
