FRANCE: Set of 7 French military medals of a
Chief Warrant Officer of the 99th Infantry
Regiment.
The medals are attached on a commemorative
diploma, with the photo of the recipient.
The diploma states that the recipient fought in
France and Belgium, took part in the Battle of
Verdun, he was wounded once & had received
the War Cross and the Valor and Discipline
Medal (Military Medal) - given the above details
all the medals that the WO had received are
present on the diploma.
The medals are glued on the diploma and the
diploma is glued on a hard carton - most likely
the back of a frame.
The medals from left to right are:
- Verdun Medal by Vernier
- Wound Badge, rare circular type (2nd type).
- Valor & Discipline Medal (or Military Medal),
7th type, silver, marked by the Paris Mint
- WW1 War Cross 1914 -1918
- Victory Medal (Morlon type)
- Combatants Cross, by the Paris Mint.
- WW1 Commemorative Medal, by Artus
