FRANCE: WW2 Badge of the French 1st Army.
With the motto "Rhin et Danube" (Rhine and
Danube) referring to the two great German rivers
that it had reached and crossed during its WW2
combat operations following the liberation of
France and the invasion of Germany under the
command of General Jean de Lattre de Tassigny.
Maker marked: Drago, Paris.
The badge was instituted in May 1945 and
remained in use in different forms until the
disband of the 1st Army in 1993.
