"Germany" and "Engage Volontaire" .
Marked by the Paris Mint.
The clasp "Liberation" was issued for the
operations in Metropolitan France and the
island of Corsica during the period 25 June
1940 - 8 May 1945.
The clasp "Engage Volontaire" was issued
for voluntary enlistment.
The clasp "Germany" was issued for the
operations of the period 14 Sep. 1944 - 8 May
1945.
The medal was instituted in 1946 and was
awarded to the members of the French Armed
Forces who participated in the War between 3
Sept. 1939 and 8 May 1945.
Gilt example - usually issued to officers.
