Officer Henri Montgobert was born in Relizane
(in Algeria, a French Colony at the time).
He was enlisted in 1920 and joined the Zouave
Regiment in Casablanca. He served almost
exclusively in the regions of Fez and Meknes
in Morocco (French protectorate), retired in
1960 with the rank of Lt. Colonel and died in
1986.
For his military service, he was awarded the
Officer's Cross of the National Legion of
Honor, the Commander's Cross of Ouissam
Allauite (Morocco) and several other Medals
and War Crosses.
