FRANCE: Miniature WW2 War Cross 1939 1940 
with 2 Bronze Stars (citations at the level of 
the Regiment or Brigade). 
This is the scarce version of the French WW2 
War Cross, the “London Type”, without  “year 
of issue” on the reverse side. 
These Crosses were issued by the French 
Committee of National Liberation – the 
provisional Government of Free France, that 
under General de Gaule continued fighting 
against the Nazis, from the UK, following the 
capitulation of France.
