EMPIRE: WW1 War Veteran's Patriotic Cup for
Officers, decorated with a bronze ring with the
portraits of the 2 Kaisers of the Central Powers,
Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany - Prussia & Kaiser
Franz Joseph of Austria - Hungary.
Both portraits are signed by Marschall.
The cup is made of steel from enemy projectiles
and it is magnetic.
The ring is dated (1914 - 1916) and inscribed with
the words of Otto Kernstock:
"The Iron Cup Distinguishes the Worthy, the Iron
Heroes of the Iron Times” and also "War Cup".
Inscribed in "handwriting" style the motto of the
Kingdom of Bavaria and of the Wittelsbach Royal
Family: "In Treue Fest!" (Steadfast in Loyalty),
with the signature of Field Marshall Von
Hindenburg.
Maker marked on the bronze ring: DRGM, "Ges.
Gesch" (Copyright
protected).
Marked on the base: "Bear" mark
