and was awarded to the Officers, NCOs and men 
of the Baltic Territorial Forces and voluntary 
groups who fought in the Baltic states during the 
Anticommunism Struggle (1918 - 1919) against 
the Bolsheviks. 
A total of 21839 Baltic Crosses were awarded
The medal was one of the few Freikorps awards 
that was not banned during the NAZI regime.
