The year 1888 is a significant year for the 
German history, known as the "Year of the 3 
Kaisers", due to the fact that it was marked 
by the deaths of 2 Kaisers, leading to the 
rapid succession of 3 Emperors within a single 
year (Kaiser Friedrich III succeeded his father 
Wilhelm I and died of cancer just 99 days later. 
His son Wilhelm II reigned after his death until 
the end of WW1).
