Africa Commemorative medal.
In bronze gilt, for Combatants, who fought to
suppress the 1904- 1906 "Rebellion of Herero
and Namaqua" against the German Colonial
rule.
The massacre, following the rebellion, was
recognized by the UN, in 1985, as one of the
earliest genocide attempts in the 20nth Century.
The medal was instituted in 1907 and this is its
RAREST type, in bronze gilt, signed by Schultz.
