Product Information
Specification
Imperial Germany - Bavaria / Prussia: Set of 5
WW1 medals & 2 diplomas awarded, most likely,
to a father and a son.
The owner of the medals - diplomas participated
in WW1 with the 5th Bavarian Field Artillery
Regiment "King Alfons XIII of Spain".
This Regiment was established in 1890.
The set is consisted of:
2 Medals mounted on a bar:
- Iron Cross 2nd Class 1914, with its diploma of
issue by the 5th Arty Regiment/4rth Battery.
The Iron Cross is maker marked KO (Royal Mint,
Berlin) on the ring.
- Hindenburg Cross with Swords (maker marked
St&L : Steinhauer & Luck, Ludenscheid) with its
diploma of issue by the City of Ludwigshaffen on
Rhine in Bavaria.
- The respective ribbon bar for the 2 above
mentioned medals.
Additionally:
- The WW1 Commemorative Medal of the Prussian
"Lighthouse" (Kyffhauser) Veteran Association
- Membership Badge (25 Years) of the Prussian
"Lighthouse" (Kyffhauser) Veteran Association
- The Kaiser Wilhelm's Centennial Medal, 1897.
The above 3 medals are Prussian and most likely
do not belong to the owner of the Iron Cross and
Hindenburg Cross (son).
Since they were all found together we didn't
separate them and we assume that they belonged
to his father who should also be the owner of the
Wilhelm's Centenary medal (issued in 1898) as
according to the Iron Cross diploma the recipient
(son) was born in 1891 so he would have been
just 8 years old when the Wilhelm's medal was
awarded.
