Awarded during the period 1913-1918 to NCOs and 
other ranks.
The Service Award was instituted by Prince Regent 
Ludwig in 1913 to be awarded for 9, 12 and 15 years 
of military service (3rd, 2nd and 1st class of the 
Award respectively). 
The service years were indicated by the respective 
Latin numbers on the reverse.
