Imperial Germany - Bavaria: Order of Military Merit,

The Order of Military Merit was instituted in 1866
to reward Officers and Senior State Officials for
bravery and military merit.
The 4th Class was introduced in 1905 and could
be issued with or without swords (for peace or
war time period) and with or without crown (for
a 2nd award or exceptional merit).
The order was abolished in 1918.
This is a war time example of a rarely seen maker
in exceptional condition, without enamel damages
(the white spots on the blue enamel on the photos
are just light reflections).
