Machine Gun Company of the 31st Infantry 
Regiment "Graf Bose" (1st of Thuringia).
Visible shoulder insignia and handwritten 
description on the reverse. 
The left sign in the photo reads: "Rest in the 
Reserve" while the sign on the suit case reads:  
"To the homeland - Back home".
The IR 31 was stationed in Hamburg - Altona. 
Probably the photo was taken the day the 
company was discharged. 
Large format on hard carton.
