The Iron Cross was issued both for bravery in
the field and also for military merit.
The Iron Cross was instituted in 1813 by King
Friedrich Wilhelm III and was designed by Karl
Friedrich Schinkel.
It was also awarded in 1870 during the Franco-
Prussian War, during WW1 and WW2.

detect hairline crack at the center of the iron
core, which hasn't affect the silver base on the
