Imperial Germany - Lippe Detmold: WW1 Military
Merit Medal, 2nd type, with Swords.

Alexander Leopold.

wreath.
The medal was instituted by Prince Paul Alexander
Leopold in 1832 to be awarded for long exemplary

in other Units who have been declared unfit for
service due to a slight wound or a field disease
and who have not been awarded the Iron Cross

The medal was struck by C.F. Zimmermann in
Pforzheim and was discontinued in 1918.
Only 1900 medals were issued in total.
