Imperial Germany - Principality of Waldeck -
Pyrmont: Silver Medal of Merit with Swords.
The medal was instituted in 1878 by Prince
Georg Victor and was awarded for special
meritorious services to military and civilian
personnel.
It was awarded throughout the WW1 (silvered
metal alloy made examples) and was
discontinued in 1918.
The medal is scarce as the total population
of Waldeck Pyrmont during WW1 was below
60.000 inhabitants.
This is a silver made example.
