Badge of the German Maritime Search and 
Rescue Association (word for word translation: 
German Association of Shipwreck Rescuers). 
In iron (magnetic).
This example is of the period 1933 – 1945.
The German Maritime Search and Rescue 
Association was established in Kiel in 1865. 
Its Headquarters were in Bremen.
The Association flies the Red Cross flag, and 
offered its services even in War time for friends 
and foe, for both “friend and foe” under the 
protection of the Geneva Convention.
In 2015 it celebrated its 150 operational years.
The badge is scarce.
