Great Britain: Commemorative Chocolate Tin
Box for the Coronation Day of King Edward
VII and Queen Alexandra.
By Rowntree's, marked on the reverse.
This tin box was launched by Rawntree's on
the occasion of the anticipated Coronation of
King Edward VII, that was originally scheduled
to take place at Westminster Abbey, London,
on 26 Jun. 1902 (hence the date on the lid).
The ceremony had been postponed at very
short notice though, due to a king's illness
that required immediate surgery, and actually
took place on 25 Aug. 1902.
The tin is rare.
