Hungary (Austro-Hungarian Empire):
Hungarian WW1 Commemorative Medal "Pro
Deo et Patria" (for God and Country).
For combatants.
Award for the participation in the Great War.
This is the latest version of the medal that was
produced during WW2 in zinc (war metal).
Zinc was used due to the war shortages and
restrictions regarding the use of metals that
were crucial for the war effort (many of these
medals were issued during WW2).
The zinc examples are rarer than the regular
examples.
The medal was instituted in 1929.
