With its rare, numbered diploma of issue, 
issued in 1959, to a Driver of the Italian Royal 
Air Force, based on award by Royal Decree of 
1942.
The medal was instituted in 1941, to be awarded 
for military value.
This is the version of the Cross that was issued by 
the Italian Republic, in 1949, following the fall of 
the Monarchy.
