ITALY: WW1 Lapel pin - button hole badge of
the Italian National Association of Combatants.
Maker marked by Stefano Johnson, Milan.
The National Association of Combatants was
formed in 1919 and it's political wing took part
in the Italian General elections of 1919 and
1921 as the "Combatant's Party". The Party
participated in the Governments of Benito
Mussolini until 1923 when the Association
was renamed to "National Association of
Combatants and Veterans".
This is an early example of the badge with
the initial name of the Association that was
used for just 4 years.
