pre-dreadnought battleships built for the Italian
Navy (Regia Marina) between 1901 and 1908.
The class comprised of the Battleships: Regina
Elena, Vittorio Emanuele, Roma, and Napoli.
They were the fastest battleships in the world
at the time of their commissioning, faster even
than the British HMS Dreadnought.
RN Vittorio Emanuele participated in the Italo-
Turkish War of 1911–1912 and saw action during
the campaigns in North Africa, Rhodes and the
Dodecanese.
She served during WW1 but she saw no combat
action.
RN Vittorio Emanuele was decommissioned
and broken up for scrap in 1923.
