Badge.
Awarded to the CSIR (Italian Expeditionary 
Corps for the Soviet Russia Campaign. 
Early version marked by Lorioli Fratelli (Lorioli 
Brothers) in Milan.
The badge was instituted on 12 May 1943 and 
it is scarce not only because it had to be 
purchased by the recipients themselves but 
also because Italy capitulated just 3 months 
later (3 Sep. 1943).
A nice original example of a heavily faked 
badge.
