Size 58cm - stamped on the side of the liner.
Marked PP56:
PP: the makers mark (a rarely found maker).
56: the year of production (1956).
Note that different maker codes exist and the
numerical coding system used differed
among the various manufacturers.
The M33 helmets were designed in 1933, by
Nicola Leszl, to replace the French Adrian
M15 Mod.1915 helmet as the standard
combat helmet of the Italian Army.
They were officially introduced in 1934 and
remained in use until the 1990s.
This is a M33/47 helmet (introduced in 1947)
of the post WW2 era.
