Italy - NAZI Germany: Italian WW2 Commemo-
rative medal for the Joint German - Italian
Operations in North Africa.
The medal, despite being an Italian award, was
issued in very limited numbers, only to German
personnel, members of General Rommel's
Africa Corps (Deutsche Afrika Korps - DAK).
The first presentation took place in 1942.
The medal was banned in Germany after the
capitulation of Italy, in 1943.
Maker marked: Lorioli, Milano, designed by
de Marchis.
A nice example of a heavily copied medal.
