The Cross was instituted in 1924 and was
awarded to the personnel of the Armed Forces
that were mobilized during WWI.
The Netherlands remained neutral during the
War but had mobilized its Armed Forces
following the invasion of Germany in Belgium
in Aug. 1914.
The Dutch Army remained fully mobilized until
the end of the Great War.
The Cross is rare.
